My first smoke was MonteCristo #2 which was a very pleasant smoke and wish I had another to make an accurate review...that was about a month ago. The 2nd one I bought is Cohiba Siglo II is been in the storage for almost a month to be smoked 3 days from now, worst thing I ever did since all I think about is that SigloII sitting on my desk hehe. Both are aged well and covered in plume, only 3 more days until I smoke & make that review :)

I've had 6 cigars total in both CC & NC and just looking to expand into NC as CC are expensive here in Canada. Those 2 CC's costed me almost $100, not sure whether it was due to the aged cigars or just overpriced cigar store....As I won't be going to Cuba until next month I'm looking for mid range NC's to go with, would anyone help me out recommending some brands\series?

Edit: Is it wrong to ask for Canadian sources? I'm having trouble finding a nice selection of NC's
    Hi and welcome from Alberta!

Just a quick FYI, a quick google search of something like "candian cigar retailers" would yield enough links to keep you busy for a while. Other than that, hang out here for a while, get to know some of the regulars and let them get to know you. Build some credibility by participating in a "newbie sampler" or two and some splits and then ask if any of the Canadian brothers have any good links that aren't easily found in google. I can also say from personal experience, the newbie samplers are an excellent way to get some exposure to some new (to you) cigars that you've never tried before.

If you're ever in Edmonton, check out Burlington's on Whyte - it's my favorite B&M and they have a very nice assortment of cigars.

and yes I know I'm overpaying, they're aged and no other place to buy them other than the Korean local shop that has a poor selection and nothing but bad reviews.

Welcome from Ottawa, where the US border is 45 minutes away ... (although New York State has a pretty high retail tax on cigars).

There's your trouble right there! You're buying from a local shop that has a poor selection (and likely very little interest in doing the whole tobacconist thing right) - coupled with some of the most INSANE taxes on cigars I've ever seen. Even the most reputable shops I've visited in Ontario I've not come across any cigars I'd consider a "deal" (Geez - even machine made crap sells for big $$$).

We have some awfully good brothers north of the border on this board. Hang around and become part of the crew!

Oh, crap - I'm embarassed. I meant to add an "eh?" onto the end of my sentences out of respect for my Canadian friends... So sorry for being so "rude"...

I've not bought any from the Korean shop, I just don't want any of their selections especially from a owner who yells at his customers. The other shop up the mountain has a bigger selection is where I go but just damn overpriced. I'll stop there again and treat myself another cuban for my birthday, I may choose the Partagas Series D #4 as its piled with dust :D Shows how aged it is, I mean it is literally topped with half a cm of dust :o

Today is the day I'll be lighting up my Siglo II for my birthday today :D I've been waiting so long to light this puppy up. I've also bought PSD4, Casa Magna Colorado and Cusano 59 *recommended by store owner* costed $55. Did I overpay as last time?...I know he's not ripping me off personally as I see the price tags.
