Your Mild Cigar Recommendation Please

Well I'm sure this will attract a few laughs but still .. I currently smoke King Edwards, I love them! They are light/mild, burn really well (even if a bit quick) but, most importantly for me .. are just enjoyable to smoke.

I've tried a whole range of other (bigger) cigars and there are one or two I've stumbled upon which I can handle but most of the bigger cigars are just too strong for me unfortunately.

I love flavoured cigars and am looking for a really mild flavoured cigar which is a 'light' smoke, has an easy draw and a great taste.

Any recommendations would be grately welcome.

Welcome to the board. Don't give up on premium cigars.....they don't have floor sweepings in them.

Ain't that the truth!!!

I first "converted" from gas station cigars to "premium" cigars quite a number of years ago when a tobacconist did an "autopsy" on the Garcia y Vega I so dearly loved (at that time). I could not believe my eyes! Bits of news paper, bailing string and other "crap" that had been clearly swept off the floor and into my cigar...

Churchill. I hear what you're saying - they're cheap and "good", but you really should consider smoking only premium cigars.

I'd also recommend CAO Gold and Montessino - both of which are reasonably priced and fairly mild.

I've been 'sampling' cigars (both premium and crud) for many years but have only begun smoking in earnest this past year. As circumstances would have it when this happened I found myself engaged in a longterm overseas contract (in Africa) only getting back to Italy at Christmas! The only cigars I can get out here are King Edwards - but at least I enjoy them although they are a bit like a fat cigarette!

Here's the next challenge: When I contacted an outfit called "The 2 Guys Smoke Shop" in Salem, New Hampshire which seems to have a real good selection of stock, they said "but we don't ship to Africa!".

So, I'm going to have to get them sent to my brother in San Francisco who will then FedEx them on to me! I'm willing to spend two or three hundred bucks investing in a selection of cigars to sample over the coming months (Africa is the worst place to smoke cigars in terms of maintaining stock because unless you smoke in isolation - which I don't like - every single person who sees you asks "please give me one" .. even of they don't smoke!) So, a plentiful stock is necessary!

I'm real interested to try the 'Heavenly' cigars, not just because they come from a company started by a woman :smiley2: but because the Italian flavoured cigars (Toscanellos) I've tried have been wonderful!

Any more suggestions would be very welcome as well as some advice on how best to store them when they arrive. Which type of humidor please?

Ditch the Garcia y Vega cigars... You'd be taking a huge step backwards with those, unless you're planning on handing them out to the moochers.

If you're interested in flavored cigars, I'd recommend the Drew Estates Java.

Stay away from the Drew Estates Kahlua, though...

The best "cheap" humidor is a tupperware bowl. It seals the moisture in well, and is easily found just about everywhere. Aside from that - if you're looking for a "nice" humidor, You don't have to go high $$$, but you should most certainly avoid low $$$. You want one that has a good seal. Cheap humidors typically are not well constructed and do not seal well. You'll find yourself constantly maintaining the humidity.

Do searches on "humidors" on this and other forums - you'll get a good sense of what's good and what's bad...
