My biggest complaint with smartphones is that they're just too tiny for my giant bear-paws to do anything without a stylus, or for my eyes to focus on something so small. I will probably have to come around sooner or later, though.
I'm seriously thinking of using this new iPad as my phone. Oregon (and CA, and hopefully, all of the states) prohibits driving while holding a cell phone to your head, so a earpiece/mic wouldn't be that out of place.
Skyping relatives is rather quick and easy
My little girl can watch movies on long road trips
I really like some of the apps in the app store right now - I haven't quite embraced the tablet as a 'gaming' device quite yet, as I still consider the input controls to be rather primitive, but some of the tools are excellent for my uses
Honestly, I really like the idea that it has a 4G capability - not that I necessarily buy into 4G technology, but just the fact that I can jump from Wifi to a 'G' network is super-useful
I'm also a mobile-app developer. While Apple provides awesome tools, there are definitely tweaks that need attending to when developing applications that cannot be simulated in iOS Simulator.
