The big thing with RBC is you can get a US bank credit card, which pretty much will buy you anything on the Internet - plus the ability to have US$ Paypal. Do your conversion online to your RBC US account and save the 2.5% conversion fee that one normally pays.

(note that I don't (yet) have an RBC US$ account - maybe)

I'm thinking I'll give them (RBC) a call today and see what all is offered and what it'll cost.
