Not that it will probably matter, but I will be away for the weekend. Be back Tuesday.

    Edit to add:
Whoops. Got a head of myself, thought I was right after TheGreekTitan.

Viruses landed yesterday. The cigars are resting in a humi separated from my other sticks inside an open baggie. Hopefully it's not airborne yet.

I will smoke the puro over the long weekend sometime...maybe Monday. My review and guess will follow shortly thereafter.

PS Thanks for the gift Nate. Completely unnecessary but much appreciated. I am now the proud owner of a cigar once owned by "The Dudes'" father. I think I'll drink an white russian when I smoke the puro.

Okay, I finally got some time to sit and smoke the puro. Sorry for the delay.

    Size: 6 x 48
    Triple cap
    Slightly reddish, toothy wrapper.
Some pronounced veins, no soft or hard spots..Well made and good looking.

    Pre-light:
Taste of sweet tobacco with a medium draw.

    Lighting:
I toasted the foot with a single flame torch. Then, lit with my trusty Bic.

    1st Third:

Wow, this is strong. Immediately, my lips and tongue begin to tingle. Definitely full flavor and full strength right off the bat. I'm very glad I ate lunch beforehand. Have I said this cigar is strong?

I've tasted this and felt this sensation before. I think I know what stick this is right away.

The cigar burns straight. Not razor sharp, but certainly acceptable. The ash hangs on for about an inch and 1/4. Great tobacco flavor that is slightly sweet, but mostly very spicy. I'm too much of a wimp to attempt a retrohale at this point to try and pick out any more flavor.

    2nd Third:

The spice has mellowed out quite a bit. Still a strong cigar with a really good flavor. I've gained the confidence to retrohale at this point and I'm glad I did. It brought the spice back, but not so much that it killed me. Definitely burned my nose hairs, but only the slightest bit of crying ensued. I had a couple small doubts about the identity during this third, but not enough to change my mind.

    3rd Third:

This cigar has really settled in nicely. The spice that came back in the 2nd third remains and tastes great. I'm 1 hour and 40 minutes in and about to put it down. Quite a bit of tar flavor that completely takes over. It happened all of a sudden, so I'm very happy I got to smoke it almost to the nub.

    Overall:
Really good smoke. Spicy and strong, with lots of billowing smoke. Never once did I have to touch it up, nor alter the way I smoke to accommodate the burn or smoke production. Very well made, and I would definitely like to smoke another one in the future.

    Origin Guess:
    Nicaragua

    Manufacturer Guess:
    El Cobre by Oliva

    Thanks!
