Maybe it's not that bad. Maybe he doesn't own a phone. Or have an e-mail address. Or a front door.

Did you buy that shit from Thompson AFTER you joined here? If so, "search is your friend" if you really want to learn anything. Personally, IMHO I think you think you know everything about cigars and a myriad of other subjects so why are you here?

Thompson's is not a very well thought of vendor. In fact no experienced cigar forum member anywhere, that I know of, would recommend them. You are going to be haunted the rest of your life with spam, phone calls and junk mail.

What Doc said. Debt collectors have nothing on a Thompsons sales agent.
And, I'm not a big fan of the VS line of cigars.

But you didn't do anything wrong per the forum rules or anything...not quite sure why you thought you did.

I ordered it on 4-26 so 2 days before I joined, I usually use cigars international or Holts as they are both about an hour driving distance if there is a problem or I can't get something at my local cigar shop. But 12 cigars, small extra humidor, torch lighter and extra cutter for $20 I wasn't going to say no... I've spent $20+ on a stick so didn't think there was a big deal.

I've heard some mixed review before about them and how they make you join their club etc. I already got a phone call with them suggesting other brands etc which I don't mind, they asked about another order in the future and I declined I told them I want to try them out before I made any future purchases. But if you guys are saying they are that bad then I'm pretty sure I won't do future business.

I had no idea about the bad rapport they had with the forum sorry.

Going from Holt's to Thompson's is like going from a Mercedes to a Pinto.

Annoying, horrible, and shitty are not mixed reviews; they're synonyms.

I believe that is referred to as "ignornace" - which is why you often hear our members say to new members, "...search is your friend!".

There's plenty of information available on this forum about the headaches created with any association to Thompson's. Not that you would know, but what you've offered is Thompson's classic "bait" to get you to start a relationship with them. And (frankly) what you're getting from them really is not worth what you believe they're selling. But - shame on you for not taking full advantage of the available resource to know that's what they're doing as it was right here the whole time...

...and if you were in the least bit wonding what the "big deal" is? Without being fully in the "know", posting other than a good deal only encourages the "blind" being lead by the "blind" (e.g. unknowingly taking advantage of a "bad" deal). That kind of behavior has a strong potential to adversely affect the reputation of this community. Going forward - know that all of us very much appreciate a heads up on a "good" deal, but please make awfully sure you're posting a "good" deal.
