    Default A. Fuente Hemingway..Wow...

Fellas hows it going, new to the forum. Was recently at the CI store in PA and picked up some Hemingways short stories for the first time... threw them in the humi, but had to try one...WOW.. would have never believed such a shorty could taste and burn so well. ashes holding up almost at 2 3/4 inches, the draw ridiculous, the smoke and taste awesome. going to call ci tomorrow and see if they can send me some more. any experiences with this one? ps. also bought a Gurkha Beauty 5 pack for 40 bucks guy at counter told me smoke three and sell two at 20 bucks each and get your money back... i just rather throw them in the humi for a while

...the guy at the counter is a knucklehead. What a putz. Where does he believe you're going to sell Gurkha Beauty's for $20 each? Door to door? You should have told him to put his money where his mouth was - if they were such a value, buy two of those cigars for $40 and give you the three others for free. I betcha that woulda gone over well. Doesn't surprise me for CI, though...

Was the Short Story a Maduro or Natural (I prefer the Maduro)? Not a huge fan of the Short Story vitola, preferring the Work of Art much better. And if truth be told, the Hemingway Signature or Classic Maduro's are in my top 10 list of favorites.

lmaooo.. i guess us that actually go out to the store would never pay 20 a stick for a Beauty. but can you believe CI has the 5 pack Beauty's at $128! and its backordered which means people have actually been buying them at even a higher price as for the short story it was the natural but it was great. now that you mention it will try the maduro when I get a chance

    Ok. Think about it....

CI has a 5 pack of the Gurkha Beauty's at $128 and they're back ordered. Yet - they're selling them at the outlet for $40 a 5 pack? What could possibly be wrong with that picture?

Perhaps the Beauty's were made for a short spell and are now selling out. Not that it's a cigar worth $20+ each. Just because it has a high $$$ price tag, does not mean it's a superior product. if you're into wasting money on "high end" Gurkha's, seek out a "His Majesty's Reserve" - a cognac infused, very high $$$$ waste of money.

But If you ever want to truly know what a $20+ cigar is like find a Davidoff Anniversario #1. And then tell us how it compares to a Gurkha Beauty.

But you definitely stumbled into a good cigar in the Hemingway. If you liked that, try the Don Carlos line. And - if you don't want to spend as much on a cigar, check out the Cuesta Rey Centro Fina.

I've had a couple of the Hemingway Signatures in Natural. As much as I want to like them, I can't get much from them. I still want to try the maduro, though. I just haven't run across one in a store, yet.

I like all three, but the Signature Maduro's are my favorite. The Work of Art is a stunning cigar as well. You'll be surprised how long it takes to smoke them...

Tampa Sweethearts are as legit as they get. Order with confidence.

Alec Bradley's are hit or miss with my tastes, but they do make good cigars. I've not yet tried the Black Market. Let us know how it is.
