Smoked an Ashton maduro

Holy cow! What a great cigar!

It was sent by a friend a few months ago and has been resting in the humi with the cigar oasis in it since.

Construction was excellent, and the burn was perfect. The flavor was sort of a creamy chocolate with a trace of mild pepper and a lingering sweetness on the finish. A beautiful smoke.

I'll be looking for a sale on these from the on line stores.

I've smoked quite a few Ashton maduros over the years and they are nothing special. Inconsistent burn and draw, the taste of the maduro wrapper is forgettable.

Hogtied, if you like 'em then good for you, "to each his own" as the expression goes but these are just run-of-the-mill medium prices domestics that really aren't worth writing home about.

Have you ever tried Añejos or AF Hemmingway maduros? How about any Davidoff maduros? If so, how do they compare to your Ashton?

I'm quite surprised hog is.raving about the Ash ton Maduro.given the collection he purports to own. With his apparent fondness for the Ashton's, I can't wait to hear his thoughts on Macanudo's.
