I just hate to waste them, and as you well know all people think that they are true cigar aficionados are really not, and normally do not even know the proper way to even light a cigar never mind Lighting a cigar with gusto. Ne crain de rien.

I'm assuming you meant Ne craint de rien - and if so, this is good! ...as long as as that means you do not fear scrutiny because you have no ill intent (versus you do not fear being attacked because you are "bigger" and "badder"). We're completely on the same page.

I also hear you about giving away those "special" cigars. I have felt the pain of gifting a $$$ rare cigar to a friend I thought would appreciate the experience - only to have him light it up, chat away as if he was smoking a Backwoods - and then crush it out like it was a cigarette. Man that hurts...

However - I have since learned to better control that experience and create an opportunity for my "guest" to experience the cigar in the way it was intended - those quiet, contemplative times when the experience truly becomes momentous. And in that - the cigar lives on when your guest comes back days, week, months or even years later and re-thanks you for the experience. It not only becomes a gift of a cigar, but the gift of your time and thoughtfulness. Those gifts, to me, are far more valuable than the few dollars I would collect from selling the cigar.
