Hopefully cigar prices will go down

Now you got my hopes up for lower cigar prices, but I have a feeling tobacco will be exempted. Even if it isn't, expect lawmakers to make up any cost difference with a hike in tobacco taxes.

Well, one source of hope is that since cigarette sales dwarf all other tobacco sales combined, maybe they will miss cigar/pipe smokers and focus on cigarette smokers. That seems to be what is happening here in Texas, at least tax-wise. Several huge increases in taxes on cigs in recent history, but tax on cigars is still 1.1 cents per stick.
