Anyone here into home brewing? I am, and I was just curious. I got started when someone bought me a cheap Wal-Mart brewing kit for X-mas. It was terrible, and I tried to find better ways to do it. Now I'm an extract/mini-mash brewer. I don't have a whole lot of experience under my belt yet, but I know what I'm doing. It's a great and fulfilling hobby, but it takes a lot of junk and a fair amount of time to do it. Burners, big pots, fermenting buckets and carboys, airlocks, and a ton of bottles are just the start! If you want to do all grain, you'll need a lot more junk and bigger pots. If you like micro-brew, this hobby is pretty fun! A great excuse to take the time to smoke a cigar too!

I've been homebrewing on and off for more years than I'd like to admit.

I originally got into it to save money on beer. Oh, what a mistake that was!

This is my favorite informational site. Lots of veterans here. As far as supplies go, it changes constantly. Malt extracts have gone up significantly in the past few years. Buy it in bulk to save money.

I've been brewing for a while. Ales, Lagers, meade and cysers (mulled and flat, not sparkling). I have a ginger porter from last winter that is tasting pretty good now.

Glad to see so many here into brewing. I'm guessing that the same personality that would like fine handmade cigars would also enjoy fine artesian beer and wine. What better way to enjoy these than to make your own?
