Thread: How Will You Kick Off The Weekend?

  1. Default How Will You Kick Off The Weekend?

    Hey guys,

Just trying to strike up some conversation here :). Work is slooow and this forum seems to be too (am I the only one on the west coast and still working? :)).

How are you guys going to kick off your weekend tonight (incorporating a smoke of course)?

Me: I went to the cigar shop on my lunch hour and picked up my first Padron to try. I plan on going to the beach this evening with some cognaic to have a smoke ...or maybe just doing it in the jacuzzi.

What about you guys? Happy Friday btw!

I am relaxing this evening with a CAO Gold, on the request of members of this forum, and just having lunch with a few friends.

Tomorrow I am heading up to a friends cabin for more relaxing.....

I just got back from a cemetary. Finally finished up plans on my humidor chest (its fuctional but I never got around to finishing it off). So tomorow I may work on it. Also planning on building another small (30 or so) desktop to put flavored cigars in (yeah flame away.. I enjoy something differnt on occasion) so they dont interfier with the regulars. As for smokes- who knows... I'v got a few Gurka Grand Reseave that I'v been sitting on for a while and some buddys of mine have been wanting to try so I may pass around a few of those.

I was thinking about making a humidor this past summer. I made an oak box then stained it but could never find the Spanish Cedar to line it so I never finished it. Where did you get the cedar? Just wondering because I could not find any arround here.

I made both of mine out of pine and put a dark red oak stain on it then sealed them with polyurathane to eliminate the smell from the wood and stain. Spanish cedar is somewhat hard to find, most of the time lumber yards can get it but its very expensive, last I checked a 1x12x60" was around $40-50 (usd). I personally dont think its worth the extra money.

My weekend will start out quietly....sitting on my ass smoking a cigar after a fairly hectic week. Feels nice to be done until Sunday night.

Get the boys home from football practice, take my daughter and her friends to the high school game, drop off our older son after practice so he can join his sister at the game, watch Ohio and Pitt on ESPN.
Maybe an IT in the hot tub later. Definately cold beer tonight.

Amanda how far from Cedar Rapids are you?

Well I'll probably go stare at the humi for a good 30 mins trying to decide on what to smoke, then just relax the rest of the weekend since I got it off.

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I had a really interesting chat with my boss's boss over coffee. In the evening, my wife, my daughter, my daughter's mother and I ate ribs and burgers and then we all went to watch daughter's volleyball practice. Today my daughter and I are going to visit the Houston Holocaust Museum.

    Good, but different, right?

Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy those cigars!

I got my weekend off to a great start on Friday. But I've been on vacation all week. Smoked a La Aroma de Cuba Churchill, then a Gran Cubita SMS perfecto, then a Puros Indios Colorado. Chased them all later that night with a six pack of Fat Tire. Great night, will do it again today!!

Did you try a Black Sheep Ale yet? I'd like to know what you thought.

QuietC: Did you make a decision yet??? :)

Silent: Cool, you should post the finished products here :).

Well I ended up not smoking lastnight, figured I'd do it tonight during the Ohio State/Texas game (GO OHIO) or the boxing match. Think I'm gonna go with the Bucanero I received from Ggeise.
