Default Opus X, which to buy?

Guys, all the talk of Opus X around here has got me to the point where I have to try one, so looking at my nearest vendor I get this. All pretty pricy (I can only afford one right now , death by rolling pin otherwise) so I have decided on either the Super Belicosos or the Perfection No. 4. What do you advise as a single.

Super belis have a bigger ring gauge and more smoke, IMHO. The #4 has never been that big a deal in my book. If you don't want to buy them, I'll trade you one of each (#4 and Super Beli) for some smokes from across the pond....

PM me, but if this is your first opus, and you smoke strong cigars, go super, if not, go #4.

Think that I will buy one (S Belicosos), need to get a new lighter anyway. Thanks for the offer KB, might take you up on it another time.

I will drop a line with my thoughts when I get around to smoking it after a month or so in the humi.

The easy answer for us for the few months would seem to be "whichever one is in stock."

I'm afraid the only Opus X available at this time are:

    Perfection no.4 and Perfection no.2.

Let me know if I can substitute.

    Kindest regards
    Guess I'll try the Perfection # 2

Those prices are insane. Do local shops in the UK sell Opus X singles?

I haven't seen them around and if I did I doubt that they would be cheaper. Cgarsltd are generally the cheapest outlet in the UK. Oh, and I am buying a single, opted for the Perfection # 2.

    Question

Hi stjohnroe and anyone else who's reading.

Can you recommend anywhere in the UK/EU that I may be able to find Rocky Patel Sun Grown, Vintage 1990 or even Gurkha Expedition?

Ironically enough, I can find plenty of sources for Cohiba et al , but the grass is always greener and the good non-cubans are few and far between. Just like the Opus X.

I did manage to find a few Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Maduro Robustos. Only had them in the humi for a couple of weeks, but I was keen to try one. I'm definitely no expert, but I thought it was OK, if a wee bit harsh at the start. Burned well and mellowed a bit towards the end. I'm hoping some more time in the humi will help.

Anyone tried these? Can I expect better than OK?

    Cheers.

    Seagar,

For my source, just check the first post on this thread.

    Scooter,

Haven't seen the three that you mention anywhere in the UK, but cgarsltd do claim that they will source any cigar requested (price may be a problem though). I tried the Chateau due to the advice received on this board and thoroughly enjoyed it, where did you get these from?

I buy some wine here and there from a Scottish guy based in Germany and he mentioned he had a couple of boxes of cigars for sale. Got a box of AF CF M Robustos and a box of ST Dupont Churchills for £175.

Not cheap by US standards, but very reasonable based on UK prices.

Just found out a mate of mine is at a course in the US just now. Got to get my order in before he returns tomorrow!!!!
