Never thought I'd get lectured about the inappropriateness of debating politics on a given board by the very person who raised the topic in the first place. Then again, I don't even try to understand Republican logic anymore, and apparently I'm not alone considering you guys' approval ratings are sinking faster than the Titanic.

You're right about one thing. I should have left out the quotes regarding the bubbleheaded sorority bimbo since cigar no baka did not use those words. I apologize for putting those words in his mouth, even though they were clearly implied by the verbiage he did use.

As for the accuracy of his statement, I won't deny that age brings wisdom. Perhaps he's right that as soon I cross some arbitrary age threshold, I'll undergo the transition towards the cerebral sophistication of members of the embattled majority party swirling down the drains of public opinion polls. My advice would be that if you don't believe debating politics is appropriate on the "Politics" board of a cigar website, perhaps you shouldn't debate politics on the "Politics" board of a cigar website. On the issue of the 2006 elections, I'm not gonna take your bet. I agree that the Republicans will still hold the majority after the midterms given the geography of the open Senate seats and the entrenched incumbency advantage of the House seats....not to mention the uninspired leadership of the Democratic Party which I don't believe will be able to generate enough national momentum to send Tom DeLay back to Sugar Land.

As for your wife, I can only hope that when I make the transition to "adult maturity", my newfound admiration for the ruinous policies of the Republican Party will be accompanied with the gift of prophecy by way of crystal balls, Tarot cards and constellation alignments in outer space. Yeah, I'm REALLY looking forward to shedding this college bimbo skin and persevering in the adult world of Republican astrologists.
