Strip Built Kayak

Anyone ever built one of these before, or know some one who has? I have always wanted to build a boat. I found this link and this guy has built some nice looking kayaks.

My cousin Chip Flanagan builds boats but I don't want to bother the guy just yet about it because, lets face it, this kayak could just end up making my fire place smell nice.

haven't yet but i almost joined a team at school to build a concrete canoe and race it. i wasn't able to join though.

I always thought wood yaks were pieces of art. I wouldn't want one just because I'd be mad if I scuffed it up.
