Well now I feel like a dink . Never mind about the cigars, I really do enjoy smoking. I met a guy from Montreal while I was there and he picked up some other brands, but I had no idea where to start. I recognized the montecristos and the Guantanameras were cheap.

We also took a tour of a local cigar factory. This one made cigars for the local population, I cant rememeber what they were called, but they packed them in paper which I thought was kind of weird.

I don't know if anyone has seen the process, but it was amazing. They just turn this pile of tobacco leaves into a cigar right in front of your eyes with nothing more than a sheet of plastic and this metal blade. You aren't allowed to take pictures inside, but I have one of the factory itself.

Anyways, the ones that I got weren't from a some guy, but I'll tell you this: Everyone in Cuba will try to sell you cigars. Everyone. My girlfriend was offered them by the towel lady on the beach. I decided to spend the extra and go to the store, Cohibas are freakin expensive too!

P.S. I can get viagara too

Like most Brits, I get my cubans from Spain. The government price regulated Estancos( ?) always charge the correct prices and never rip you off with fakes.
Never buy off anyone but the official factory shops in Cuba and don't trust shops in Jamaica...especially cigar world in Negril.. ..sorry if I've said that before.

How cheap were the Montecristos?? I just love em. My cousin knows someone at the Monte factory that sells em out the back door...Guess they are stolen but who cares??? Hell, it's only rippin off Castro. Bet you got those smokes from that dude. He is a little guy that dresses well and hangs out by the tourist areas. I bet it's the same guy you got yours from.

Give us some prices and pics...I bet the guys will eat em up.

I dont want to get anyone in trouble, I can be reached privately via email.

As for the little guy that steals the cigars, I have heard that he is really busy rolling banana leaves into cigar shape and selling them. The guy that I met down there bought the street cigars on his last trip and got ripped. I got mine from a government store and have the official paper to prove it. I was told that if you didnt have the paper, they would not let the cigars out of the country. They have to keep up their reputation for quality or the whole economy cold be ruined.

Sorry, it just seemed like a sales pitch, new member and all.... We watch out for each other here.
    Anyway, welcome to the hobby!

Never having purchased cigars privately (non-storefront), do you guys just ship an unmarked box to each other?
