    Default Cuban Box Codes

I've recently bought some Cuban cigars from a very reputable cigar shop.

I'm not concerned at all about their authenticity, but out of interest I would like to know which factory they come from. Useful info for future purchases.

Is anyone aware of a resource listing the codes and corresponding factories?

If anyone is interested the codes are as follows:

    Cohiba Robustos
    Boxcode : PFY MAY05

Punch Royal Seleccion No.12 Cabinet of 25
    Boxcode : SUH SEP01

    Partagas Lusitanias Cabinet of 50
    Boxcode : BYL ABR05

    Cheers,
    Scott.

Yeah that list looks like it could be out-dated. So that may be no help at all Scooter.

Those only go up to 2003. I know Cuba is being a bit more secretive these days about their box codes. My understanding is so that Cuba can track down the counterfeiter's, but the counterfeiter's can't know what the new box code series are...

Thanks for the input. I too could only find codes up to 2003/2004.

I'm no aficionado, but I would have thought that a real connoisseur would insist on this kind of info? Surely some producers have a better rep than others.

You know the kind of thing.....The factories facing north, in the south east of the island had a wonderful year in 2003.

They are now using "rolling" factory codes that constantly change. So the factory from which your box mark PFY came from may not be the same factory the next time they use the same code.
