I know how Sean feels. Where I work we can't get a raise. The local PD Sergeants make 36%more that Sergeants at my SO make. Our local County Comission is to blame as well as the Sheriff for not going to bat for us.

We are also on the bottom on the Tennesee Consolidated Retirement System. You have to work 30 years to get full retirement. That is 46% of your three highest years pay. That means I will be out there until I moss over.

I'm trying, along with several others to revive the local Deputy Sheriff's Association. There are about 220 sworn Deputies in my department, road deputies, jailers, and court room security. If we could reorganize that we could infulence votes and stand up for ourselves.
