Default Carlos Torano Signature Collection. Ammonia taste?

I had one of the Carlos Torano Signature Collection fiver I got a an Xmas gift on New Years Eve. The first third of the smoke seemed just about as I remembered it. About halfway through, I started perceiving a taste like ammonia. This seemed to get stronger as the cigar burned down. Anyone ever get this from a good cigar like a CTSC? Is this something I should try to age out, or should I return them to CI?

I was talking to a roller at an event and he was saying that I had to smoke the hand rolled that day or let it rest for about 4 months because the binder and wrapper would start to ferment once they came into contact with each other a produce ammonia. So if what this guy was telling me was the truth then maybe you need to let them sit a while.

That one's very strange. I've never had any problems with the Signatures. I know a new shipment came in early December. I kept a box of Churchill’s for myself but didn’t notice anything weird.

Maybe the one you got was not aged enough?

I recall reading that cigars go through a "sick period" for about 3 months after rolling. Recommend you age them for a few more months and see how they are. I have not experienced this with the Torano line but imagine that once in awhile a new stick might slip through their normal aging process.

I'll give em a little more time. Who knows, I might've been imagining things or just got a bad stick.
