Quite frankly Dave, I don't find anything you've done or said in this thread quite humorous at all.

Please remove the signature tag. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with cigars and I find it highly repulsive and offensive.

What you do with your life is your business. Many people are going to click on your NON cigar related link without knowing what it is, and my guess, probably feel the same way I feel as well.

Keep it clean, remove the signature tag, apologize, stick to talking about cigars and not your personal life. I guarantee many others feel the same. If you don't, I hope you enjoy a very unpleasant stay here on cigarsmokers.

In my defense, I was not the one to bring up my blog. I did not deviate from the topic of cigars until asked, at which time I simply responded. I said not one thing about my "personal life" until asked, other than I didn't like the Fonesca.

I admit to putting the signature there (which, if you notice is now gone, as per your request) as I'm always trying to get new readers. We are mature adults, and if you find what I have to say is offensive, then simply close it out and never read it again. Don't bring it up in a totally unrelated thread.

In addition to all this, I feel that calling me out in public on this was a very unprofessional thing to do. You could have sent me an e-mail or private message relaying your feelings, and I would have obliged just as I have now.

Posting my blog was obviously a bad decision on my part, and for that I apologize. I'm not out to offend anyone. I'm sorry some of you feel as if you were tricked into reading something you didn't like by mistaking it for cigar related. I put my blog url on my signature of all the forums I post in, incase someone might read it and like what I have to say, and continue to read it.

As I have stated before though, I wasn't the one to bring it up, so I see none of this as my fault. Not once did I ask for any comments on it to be posted on this board. This, however, is a very trivial thing, in my opinion, but I just wanted to clarify my position.

I will not apologize for my writing. It almost seems to me that is what you really want me to apologize for. If I am mistaken on this, then so be it.

Simply put, I’m just here for the cigars. It seems there is a lot of knowledge floating around this board, and I hope to learn all I can. I hope this can be the end of this matter.

Okay - this is the first time posting on this subject, so forgive me if this sounds repetetive.

First off - I am glad you apologized for the faux pas of placing your blog link in your sigtag. However, and maybe you need to carry this thought everywhere you go, there are those who would not agree that putting that in your sigtag is a good thing ("incase someone might read it and like what I have to say, and continue to read it"). I suppose it would be appropriate to put it in a sigtag if you were posting on a gay site, but not on any mainstream board. If you had a blog about cigar smoking, maybe (unless you started talking about smoking cigars with fake jizz on your face...) - but not about your real or imagined gay behavior... And before you jump on me for intolerance, I'd be saying the same thing if someone posted a link to their blog recalling real or imagined hetrosexual exploits. If that doesn't seem odd to you - it should....

Secondly - we are a board of cigar smokers. We enjoy discussion - mainly about cigars, sometimes about sports, cars, jobs, etc. Sometimes we talk about personal things. And you'll find that if the majority of the board takes offense to something a person has said of a personal nature, it may be in their best interest to refrain from posting that personal stuff in the future.

While this board is owned and operated by one man, it is a community of individuals who collectively create the environment. We respect the rules Hex as laid down - but he has also left a lot of leeway for us to flourish. And he has left us a lot of lattitude to discuss amongst ourselves the communities mores. You've tread into an area which is outside the norms of the board - and you should be VERY careful walking on that path... Make some choices here, Dave - is this REALLY where you want to be (that path clearly leads out the door) - or would you prefer to stay in the mainstream of this community.

Dave, it was a mistake to post it in your sigtag. You did right to take it down. IMHO it's alright to have it in your profile as that is your "personal information".

Don't be overly sensitive about the criticism you have received. While you enjoy your writing, others will have their opinions about it and as long as you have links to it anywhere here or elsewhere that gives others the right to voice those opinions.

*Note: I know we are all fed up with the influx of asshats on the boards lately, so it's possible we all might be a little on edge. Just an observation.
