I've had all kinds of other cars in the meantime as well. In 1985, I bought a 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine for $800.00. It looked like this, even though this is a photo of a 1971 (they had slightly different grilles in 1972):



I had this car up until last year. The frame rotted out. I could have fixed it but I got more interested in Jaguars

In 1984, I bought a 1970 Cadillac DeVille convertible. I had two of these, the first one was dark blue, the second one was tan. This is a photo of a 1969. The 1970s looked almost exactly like this but the grilles were slightly different:

When I was in college, I bought a 1963 Chevrolet Impala convertible just like this one:


I paid $600.00 for it. I had to put a quarter panel on it and paint it. Mine was maroon. I wrecked it when a deer ran out in front of me in the fall of 1983

I had two of these when I was in high school. 1964 Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon:


One was light blue, the other was aqua.

OH, I forgot to tell you about my 1979 BMW 733i. I bought it in 1993 for $3500.00. It had 135,000 miles on it. I forgot about this one because I still have it! Mine is "Bronzit" or a copper color. They only came with four speeds but someone had put a five speed in it before I bought it. I think is has 220,000 or so miles on it now. I can't remember because I had to change the speedometer. It came from California so it was rust free at the time. It's starting to show its age now and I don't drive it much anymore. It's probably not worth restoring so I don't really know what I'm going to do with it:

You've all already heard about the Jaguars but too bad, you're going to hear it again anyway.

In 1999, I bought a black 1986 XJ6 for $1,500.00 to "fix up" BAD IDEA, the car was a piece of garbage so I bought another one in 2000 (a grey one) and restored it. I paid $900.00 for it on eBay. I bought it sight unseen on eBay becaue it was a California car and I knew it would have no rust. It had a blown head gasket and it had 152,000 miles on it. I used the black one for parts to fix this one. It came out so nice that I now pretty much only use it for car shows. The restoration was completed in 2002:



The car just turned over 180,000 miles this year when I drove it down to Richmond, VA for a car show three weeks ago.

Last year, I bought another one exactly like it, same color for $300.00. It needed some work but the black one provided all the parts I needed to fix it. A friend of mine who manages a body shop is painting it for me. It should be ready for sale next year.

It's just a shell of its former self, no engine, no rear end, no front end, no nose

Just about ready for the junkyard but it has paid for itself three times over in parts.

THE FIRST CAR I EVER DROVE My parents white 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne station wagon:

This is a photo of an "Impala" the Biscayne was the strip model, bottom of the line with a 307 ci engine NO TRIM and only two tail lights one each side instead of three.

When I was 16 my "learner" car died a noble death after being driven by my mother for 10 years before it was bestowed upon me. At that time I was gifted a 1978 Thunderbird that my uncle had purchased off the showroom floor in late '77. It originally looked like this, but was later repainted dark green, retaining the puke green (jade) interior.
