He says there are to many good ones in there and its too hard to pick which ones to lose.

Which leads me to another question why can't you check the box and store it some place that won't effect the 100 count. I am guessing the limited space for each person is to keep the cost down in running the site. But is there a way to store the messages off the site other then to cut and paste each one individually to your own space off the site

There are links on the bottom of the PM inbox where you can download all your PMs as XML, CSV or text.

Example
