    Welcome.

    Here is some free advice.

    1. Read more Post less.

    2. The search key is you friend.

    3. Yes there is such a thing as a stupid question.

    4. After getting a Post count more than 100 or spending more than a month here doesn't make it ok for you to try to change the way things are done.

    5. Spell checker is your friend. Spelling something wrong once in a while happens. Doing it all the time just proves your stupid.

    6. Have a thick skin.

    7. Don't mooch!

    8. Remember most times you won't have the whole story so don't get upset when the FOG's take someone to task.

    9. Think before you post.

    10. Anything you do here or anywhere else will go to defining your character.

    11. If you think it's wrong then it is.

    12. This is a community.

    13. Good Communication is necessary.

    14. You are not being picked on because you are new.

    15. Have fun!

    Default spelling, etc.

On the spelling, grammar, etc., we realize it's easy to slip into the use of internet slang, which includes lots of abbreviation that looks like mispellings (and sometimes is). But, using slang assumes everyone is, on not the same page, but, on your page, and can decipher everything you're writing. Some folks here were born before computers could fit in one room, much less were household items; they don't care to learn or to communicate using truncated, dumbed down English, nor do we appreciate those attitudes that assume we might so desire. In other words, it's egocentric and often comes off as presumptuous. And, it's fucking tedious. So, knock it off, re-read Diesel Grinch's short course on etiquette, and above all, have fun!

Equality is not seeing different things equally. It's seeing different things differently.

Hex, let's make this a sticky so new people can read this great advice.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

My thoughts exactly. I’m going to post this under the Rules and Regulations forum.
