    That's the place.
Seems as though a lot of people visited that place, or have some kind of opinion on it.
I was there over 10 years ago, and it was explained to me to be a tradition of the Vet school students to visit there after a big test.
Oh well, so much for tradition.

Unfortunately many people think it is a tradition, but its just a piece of crap and has only been there for about 20 years. A&M has been there for over 125 years and my grandpa and dad didn't give a crap about some heap where you have to piss into a trough of ice.
    End of line.

I was there in 1976 - 30 years ago. Don't remember a trough with ice.

Well I have a lot of memories at the Dixie Chicken, sad to hear it's going away. But that's progress.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

I've pissed into much worse places than a trough of ice, and was damn happy to have a place to piss.
It was tradition to the students I went with.
Somebody must have had a bad experience in there.

It just that I don't like that place being the stereotype for my entire school, when things like the cadets and actually having a defense should be instead. And the guy that owned it, Don Gainer, was an insult to humanity.

And Basil is correct on the age, I believe 1976 was the first year it was there, maybe 78.
    End of line.

The worst Bar (canteena) I have even been in was in Mexico. We lived right outside of border of Mexico for a few years and going to Mexico was a day trip. One day hubby and I and a few friends took a bus outside of the tourist sections. The one thing I remember about this bar was the only thing separating the mens room and the lady's room was a piece of card board. The bad thing is it had holes all thought it. Regardless I like Basil, was still very happy to have some where to pee.

I don't think it's a stereotype for the school. It was, however, well known as a night spot that was frequented by a seemingly large number of students. It is what it was.

I remember many other things from my visit there. I wish my school had as nice of an exotics/zoo animal section.
