I picked up a box of the maduro Corona Gordas. I have only smoked one so far and it was pretty rotten. The flavor was good and bold as expected but it burned as unevenly as anything I have ever smoked. I tried everything I could to get it going well but had no luck.

Has anyone had the same experience or did I just get a bad stick (I hope)?

LGC's regular line has lost some of the consistancy it had when I first started smoking them. It really is hit and miss with those. You shouldn't get more than a few really bad ones in the box, but I don't buy their regular line much anymore because of that. I tend to stick with the Serie R's.

i believe that the la gloria cubana is nowhere near what it was when ernesto owned the brand...since swisher bought it,it's crap....

I smoke LGCs regularly and this problem has become more prevalent recently. The ones that seem to be the worst are the corona gordas, but they also seem to be a bit green too. The ones that I have kept unwrapped in my humidor (65%) for a couple of weeks don't seem to be as bad. Could just be they are still a bit wet. I will say you got to love those serier R, but they are uncello in a box, maybe that makes them a little closer to optimum humidity.
