different states have different laws regarding cigar sales...i can only sell to cigar stores or distributors.....in florida, convenience stores and liquor stores can sell cigars.....
my guess is that the cigars are probably sold to a retailer who has contracted with costco...
.......no problem in asking some questions regarding storage and such...if the questions get answered to your satisfaction and the prices are okay then you could make your decision....buy or no buy....
Costco on Long Island has them, so did Sam's Club back in Chicago for a while (stopped because they weren't selling). The Costco didn't have them in a humidor, but the Sam's Club in Chi-town did.

We have 'em at our Costcos (Northern Virginia). They have them in a glass cabinet, but with a humidifier (looks like an oasis) at the bottom. I've bought a couple boxes (Montecristos, SLRs) and they're fine. One thing I've noticed is that Costco only sells sticks that come in glass or aluminum tubes (smart). Prices comparable to online, maybe a couple bucks cheaper - without the shipping. I have no qualms taking the sticks back if one seems dry - they have a great return policy.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.
