Default What are you doing for Memorial Day?

I'm curious to see what everyone is doing this weekend? I'm in Philly watching the NCAA Men's Lacrosse finals. The D1 semi finals were pretty good, UMass beat Maryland which was a big upset, and UVA beat Syracuse. I'm picking UVA over UMass, but UVA has to step up their game. But lacrosse aside, what is everyone else doing this weekend? BTW, want to thank the troops that have made this weekend happen. You dont get thanked enough for your service, sacrifice and commitment to the rest of us. Canada-you can be included too .

I will be thinking about my belated Grandmother while slow cooking some BBQ beef brisket. I will also make it a point to smoke something special.

I should hopefully be on St George Island tomorrow. Its only an hour - hour and a half drive. I'm thinking a nice Torano Virtuoso will suit the surroundings perfectly.

My Brother's coming over to my place, and we're going to grill some t-bones, have a couple of drinks, and fire up a few nice sticks.

I got out on the lake yesterday so I could spend today avoiding the drunks and dimwits who will be runnning over each other and drowning themselves today. I plan to hang out at the house and maybe venture out to the local eatery for a nice burger, to go.

A nice cigar this evening when the temps start to drop is in the plans.

I went to DC for the day yesterday and saw the memorials and all that cool touristy stuff. Seeing all the wreaths etc at the WWII memorial was amazing. We also went to the canadian embassy. It was nice to be home again, if even for only 20 minutes. The signs had french on them! I saw the thing on the back of the (cdn) twenty dollar note! It's the big black sculpture in the water for any locals who are curious. All in all a pretty good day. Too much walking though. We parked at First and Constitution and left the cars there all day. I'm not cut out for all the on-foot crap. At least next time we'll be going to museums and stuff, they're air-conditioned right?

Spent the whole weekend on the road to my wife's family in Indiana. Long trip and glad to be back home!
