Default Not getting a lot of smoke

Question from a newb...right now I'm about 10 minutes into a CAO MX2 (Thanks again for the newbie sampler Sarge ). Problem is the cigar smokes like it has a leak. Do stogies get leaks? I used to be a cigarette smoker in another lifetime and I know what smoking a broken cigarette is like and this seems the same to me; the taste is a little off and I'm not getting nearly as much smoke as I should. What do you usually do in this situation? I'm not enjoying this smoke much and I don't just want to chunk it. Thanks!

Newb answer to a newb question...

Cigars can have "leaks" if the wrapper tears enough, but you would probably notice the smoke pouring out the side of your stick. Try opening up the end a bit by cutting higher up the cigar.

You might have your humidity too high, that makes it draw tighter. Shoot for 65%

For what it's worth, I had one of those a couple of months ago, and I trashed it before halfway. It was shit.

But enough people say good stuff about 'em that I'll try it again some time.

if you have a guillotine or scissors, snip it down to where it draws.

Humidity is OK. I'm indicating right around 65 and I'm using the humidity beads. The draw feels right, it just doesn't taste right.

I'm about 15 minutes from sharing the same opinion.

I've had one MX2 and wasn't too impressed, but I have to say stick with it. The second half of the cigar was waaay better than the first. Not enough to buy another but still a very enjoyable finish.

As far as the draw problems, I'd have to agree with mauied: take a bigger snip.
