    Default June 21-23, Richmond VA

I'll be in a business trip in Richmond and was wondering if there are any members from that area. I know leeroy_fan is, but I don't know about anyone else.

I'm really looking forward to the trip. From what I've heard, there's a great collection of B&Ms there, and the city is basically cigar friendly.

    Anyone have anything to add?

I occasionally make a trip down to Richmond but I doubt I’ll be down there that weekend. Any chance on coming up to DC?

I'll add to the peer pressure. I could probably slack off work long enough to go to DC for a bit...Richmond's a bit far though.

About 100 miles away or 1.5 hours, depending on how much of a lead foot you have. I'll buy you your first uh... non-alcoholic... beer.

Actually, it ain't the lead foot, it's how strong my right wrist wants to twist!! I'm gonna be on one of the bikes (prolly the Wing). Also, I don't drink when I am on a trip. I'm old enough to know I ain't old enough to drink and be around 2 wheels. So you can buy me a diet Coke!!

    OK, here's my schedule:

Wednesday the 21st - Leave home and ride to Richmond (Takes me 25 minutes to the border at Detroit, and from there it's ~600 miles to Richmond)
    Thursday all day - Working
    Friday till noon - Working
Friday noon - I'm free for the weekend

How would Friday night work? Wednesday night is a possibility, but if there's traffic issues, I may not make it in decent time. I just did a Google.maps and I see it's straight up I-95 to DC from there. So it looks like I can be in DC any time after 2 Friday afternoon.

Ditto. But traffic might suck for you. And I hope your helmet has a visor... otherwise you might be flossing bugs all night, as appealing as that sounds...

There is Shelley's, down in Georgetown, at Sequoia’s (think that’s the right spelling) they have an outside bar, its right on the water but the place is pricey. VA is still tobacco friendly and one place that I’ve smoked in is Bailey’s in Arlington in the Ballston Common's Mall, right of the orange line metro. Bars and restaurants are still cigar friendly, but is currently entirely up to the establishment and the two establishments I’ve been to are expensive. Let me ask around.

CJ, do me a favour too. Take a look for a motel somewhere close to where we'll be meeting. Nothing fancy if there's anything close like a Super8 or a Motel 6 or something..

    Thanks.
