Sorry guys, you have wandered into my area of expertise and I have to respond. Here’s a little comment and I’ll try not to get all scientific:
1) Drinking water standards in the US allow 0, no E. Coli in the water. That is not to say a person might not ingest a microbe or two drinking a daily liter per year, but the amount would be microscopic.
2) Correct-Small amounts of E. Coli are relatively harmless, but the presence of E. coli is used to signal the possible presence of harmful bacteria. So drinking 365 liters of water that contains a pound of E. Coli would be extremely dangerous.
I know you guys are just joking around, but drinking water standards are taken very seriously by some people
.
In spite of all evidence to the contrary, the entire universe is composed of only two basic substances: Magic and bullshit.
