Referral?

How do you give someone a referral? Like when it says under their names in their public info "referrals: 2" and such.

When someone signs on the first time, there is an option for a referral.

Actually Lopaka, it's an option when the new member is setting up their account. They can check the box and enter the name of a member here and that member gets credited with a referral.

I have six because every time Eric Turner set up all six of his accounts here, he kept entering my name as a referral.

There is also a way to send your friend a link that will create a refferal if that person signs up.


A follow up question: What do these refferals actually do ? Is it just something that shows in our profile or there is some other benefit to be had ?

Ah ok. I thought it was for something like if you made a trade with someone and they got some rep from it. Maybe thats for the suggestion part of the forum though...

Ah, I'm not at all a fan of "trader comments" or "ratings" and neither are most of us here. It's something they do at BananaLand (ClubStogie) which is a good reason not to do it here because that site is run by a complete asshole.

Trader comments and ratings tend to be next to useless, kind of like the stupid eBay "reputation"

On the rare occasion a trade goes bad here, you'll know about it (we don't let scammers and thieves get away with that nonsense) and chances are extremely good that other members will step in and help out anyone who gets screwed.

And if you have any questions about someone before you trade or buy something from them you can always ask one of the old heads and they can tell you if the person is good or bad.
