I think so. I find my Cohiba bands have a nice, photo type shine to them. I saw a couple fake ones given to me from a friend whos father was in mexico. They had the same line you describe, as well as a white line along the bottom of the band. And the band itself didn't really shine, it was dull. The letters aren't gold either and on a real cohiba they are.
Although those fake bands in this thread look pretty convincing....
The older cohiba bands did not have the Cohiba spelled out in gold, and the bands were not as shiny as they are now....Originally Posted by Roham

Yello & Alex, I think I've just received one of this same batch of fakes.![]()
I was given this cigar as a "teaser" from a vendor I buy from often. He had the box out on the counter & was packaging individuals for distribution to his regular customers. Should I approach him about this being fake or do you guys think he knows? The guy is Cuban and the co-owner of the store is an old man who supposedly used to roll at Montecristo as a boy, so I think they'd be up on this stuff.
I'm a casual smoker, not someone I'd consider an afficionado by any means, but I like this shop alot. What would you guys do here?
Thanks in advance.
just tell him that you saw a comparison of real to fake cohiba bands and it showed their's as fakes.Originally Posted by randylsu
