Can you believe this?

Get this. Over the winter I was part of a Secret Santa thing on another board and being the nice guy that I am I sent off a great handful of cigars. Included were 2 Cohiba ISOMs, an Esplendido and a Robusto. The guy that I sent them to posted that he had smoked them and was in love and that they were the "best cigars he had had to date". This made me happy that my gift was liked so much.

A month or so later I decide to trade away some of my JdNA and posted it up. The same guy came to me and offered a trade and I accepted. Along with the trade he asked about some more Cohibas and said that he was willing to send me a Monte #2 and a Diplomaticos. I had never tried either and so I agreed. Now 3 or 4 months later he writes me this email:

"Carlos,

We did a trade on ********** several months ago and you traded me FAKE cohibas for my authentic Cubans. My question is, would you like to resolve this with me privately or should I add you to the "Bad Traders List" and alert the forums you go to? I have your address and personal information. Please handle this the right way!"

Can you beleive this guy?? I send him the same cigars that he has already smoked, from the same boxes and her pulls this. Some people.

Now he is emailing me all these threats that he is going to "go public" with this. Also...he has somehow come about the info about the missing ISOM's from the pass and blamed it on me. He claims that someone from this board also blames me. This is so rediculous. I was the one to call it out that they were missing.

If this guy starts to post slander on me please disregaurd it untill I deal with him.

Oh, by the way, the only bad traders list that matters on this board is the one created by this board. Don't sweat it.

I'm the one that triggered all this. I'm in a boxpass with the fellow that Oblik mentions. He in fact started the pass, and I was the first recipient. Noticed that the Esplendido in the box was fake, pulled it, and let the guy know. He maintains that he got the cigar from Oblik. He has no reason to lie, and from what I understand his entire stock of Cohibas comes from Oblik.

I don't know any of you guys from Adam, but the bottom line in my book is if any of you have Cohibas with bands that resemble the one on the left in the picture below, you are smoking fakes. Yeah, it smells Cuban and may in fact be a good cigar, but it ain't no Cohiba:

I don't know who's cigar is whose, but I know the one on the left is indeed fake.

Other than that, I don't care. Oblik is a good poster on this board, and like I said earlier, the only bad trader list I am concerned with is the one on this board. Ya'll stick around and work this out. Cigarsmokers is a good community and can use some experienced BOTLs on here.

Hell, if it will settle this thing, I will buy all of you a few sticks.

I am not going to post anything negative...like show these pictures, show where you claim to beat anyones price on the same Cohiba, etc.. until this is resolved.

I will not flame nor insult you as you have me until resolution is reached... which I hope it will be soon. I took this to your private email and you choose to only post one email out of many back and forth this morning. Show the botl over here you are going to resolve this issue the right way. I have better things to do with my time than harrass you or any member of this community, just want you to accept that the cigars we traded are FAKE instead of claiming a crazy person is "out to get you".

Instead of telling me that you will look into it or something, you start calling me names and a liar...I would think an innocent botl would at least look into first, as your supplier obviously sold you fakes....it happens to all of us at some point. Let's expose this source so no other botl gets burned the way I did!

It is wise of you to try and cover you ace but I have the cigars Carlos...the packaging, the emails and the threads in quesiton. I am sorry to disrupt your board, as it looks like you are up and coming. A very nice site imho and I am sure this will be resolved ASAP.

I look forward to contributing here more in the future as all of us botl have to stick together.
