    Default Cigar newbie saying hey

    Hey all,

I ve been reading the forum for a while and decided to join up. I wasnt sure if i should post a welcoming thread, but after seeing a few others, i decided to say hey.

I have been smoking for a little over a year. Cant say that i have been influenced to smoke cigars by anyone specificly, but i just picked it up one day, and have been hooked ever since. Opus-x was my first smoke and while i wasnt ready for something that strong, i decided to try again with something milder. i smoked baccarats at first and they lost all appeal and, after much trial and error, i have now regained my love for a more medium to full bodied cigar. Ashton cabinet, and romeo y julieta would be two of my favorites.

I am still in college, as a photojournalism major at Wester Kentucky university, so im young but definately enjoy the finer things in life.

currently in my humidor i have Cohiba (Habana, cuba) that my girlfriend purchased in london, 3 Fuente Opus X,2 Romeo y Julieta, macanudo portofino (given to me), miguel y familia (local store's house brand), and an Ashton cabinet. Not alot of cigars, but did i mention i was a college student?

I dont have alot of friend who are willing to invest the money to smoke cigars so i usually end up smoking by myself or with one other friend. I am looking forward to learning alot more in such a great online community.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

bigpoppapuff- the story behind the macanudo is my uncle often gets me to house sit for them when they go on trips, and he usually leaves a cigar sitting on his kitchen counter for me. He left the macanudo the time before last, and i havent really had a desire to smoke it. Last time he left me an Ashton Maduro, and I loved it.

First of all, welcome to the board. I joined about 3 months ago and have greatly benefited from all the great advice and experience of the other members. Second, save the mac for a friend as a "gift". You'll look like a great guy and won't have to waste a good smoke on a novice.
