    Report by McCafrey.

Retired General. That's like having the fox gaurd the henhouse.

Put the terrorists/enemy combatants on trial for a crime, or release the assholes.

The reports I've been hearing are all pretty positive these days, at least as far as quality of care goes. And I respect that this report mentioned the mess Gitmo was early on.

It would be nice to see these guys tried or released. This is still America and you still have a right to a fair and speedy trial.

That's the real human rights issue.

Well, I wouldn't put it on the same level as torture, but it's still pretty bad.

Holding indefinitely, without charges or trials, IS torture, they're just not causing any physical damage.

I would think sending them back home would be torture. If Gitmo is nicer than a Boy Scout camporee, they probably don't want to leave.

A prison is a prison, no matter how much you try to dress it up.

And the Middle East is hell on earth. So I guess it depends on which one you think sucks worse.

Then I hope I go to hell when I die, because I have enjoyed most of the time I have ever spent over there... I would hardly make sweeping exaggerations like that without some kind of support to your statement, or is it just based on ignorance or the common occurance of being brainwashed by your press?

If anyone wants to move to Iraq or Iran or anywhere like that be my guest. I personally, would probably perfer Club Gitmo where I could eat and sleep on a bed and use toilet paper everyday.

I will however, stand corrected on using the term "Middle East," because there are quite a few well-run countries there, so my bad.

I'm quite sure that the majority of the Middle East, including the majority of Iran and even Iraq, has the luxury of food, beds, and toilet paper.

I'd feel a hell of a lot safer in Iran than the Gaza Strip (currently under attack by Israel) or Japan (watching North Korean missiles float overhead).

Even Iraq, I would think, is relatively safe for most of the people. I seem to hear the same regions named over and over again on the news. And if you think about it, if you watched CNN from outside the US, you'd think the whole damn country is flooding. :)

True, I think I'll stay here though.
