Syd, sorry to read your boy got a little roughed up, but GREAT to read he dominated in the end baby!!!! I bet he had some adrenaline pumping.

Yeah, the justice system has severe problems on the punishment end. I'm not for capital punishment, but since when has back breaking labor in remote places with guns to the back become cruel and unusual?

Or...relating to the energy thread, why don't we hook all criminals up to bikes that are used to generate electricity and force them to ride bikes for 8 hours a day (2 hours on, 1 off).

It is hard to believe, but records like that are common.

The guy should be hung or shot by firing squad. What good is he doing the US or even the planet for that matter?

Most importantly, glad your son is ok.

Based on the rap sheet - sounds like this person is beyond rehabilitation. How the heck he got out defies belief IMHO.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.

Then you would like this Sheiff out in Arizona, I can't think of his name right now though, but he makes his prisoners live in tents while they do manual labor. The state actually got pissed off at him because he didn't have cable TV in his prison and forced him to install it. He did, but all he gave them was the Disney channel and weather channel.
    End of line.

BPP, sorry about the bustup, but congrats on the collar! That is quite a criminal record, and I am glad your Son got to bring him down.

    Lets hope he stays down.

I did read about that Sheriff once, I think that he makes them wear pink jumpsuits and work on chain-gangs. He got a lot of flack for it, and may have changed to stripped suits since.

    That would be Joe Arpayo.

    Overall, the man's an idiot.

Hey BPP, glad to hear your boy's gonna be OK.

Another example of the broken justice system, and welfare system, in this Country.

BTW, there's no such thing as "rehabilitation".

Good job on the boy's arrest. Cops gotta get paid more for having to put up with that kind of crap. Good to hear he's okay.

Prisons everywhere need to be a harsher enviroment. Why would you ever want to give them TV..for free, they're in prison to be punished they shouldn't have any entertainment at all.
One of the most idiotic things that is available to them in most prisons at the weight room, why in the hell would you give prisoners the chance to get stronger? Seems stupid to me,because the guards are already out numbered big time...
And that's if they even get sent to prison..stupid defense liars...I mean lawyers.

    From wikipedia:

Joe Arpaio has frequently been referred to as America's Toughest Sheriff.

Upon his initial election as sheriff of Maricopa County in 1992, Arpaio immediately began instituting changes at county jails.

He began to serve inmates surplus food, reducing meal costs to 40 cents per day [1]. He has banned coffee (for having no nutritional value), smoking, and porno magazines. He has removed the weightlifting equipment and cut off all but "G" movies. The cable TV system (which is mandated by court order), has but two stations, the Disney Channel and the Weather Channel.

Inmates are issued pink underwear as part of their uniforms and all guards use pink handcuffs.

He has also set up the Tent City as a modification of the Maricopa County Jail. As it becomes crowded, more tents are set up. As temperatures climbed well past 100 during the summer of 2003, Arpaio said to complaining inmates, "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths![2]"

Arpaio has instituted a program for inmates to study while in jail and to try to recover from drug abuse. This program is named Hard Knocks High, which is the only approved high school program in any American jail. Another jail program, called ALPHA, is aimed solely at getting inmates away from drug abuse. Community projects include bicycle registration, block watch, child identification and fingerprinting, Operation Identification for marking valuables, Operation Notification which identifies business owners during times of emergency, Project Lifeline which provides free cellular phones to domestic violence victims, S.T.A.R.S. (Sheriff’s Teaching Abuse Resistance to Students), and an annual summer camp for kids near Payson.

This guy sounds pretty cool to me. Except the pink underwear that seems kind of gay.
    End of line.
