Coolidor help

After an exhaustive search through the threads I have found a lot of helpful information that I needed and used to build my new coolidor. he only thing that I could not find was info on using 50/50 solution. I know that beads are the best to use and less hassle, but I am in a bind. I have some cigars coming and need a place to store tm quick.

I went out and bought a brand new cooler (60 qt igloo Ice Cube), a package of floral foam, some solution, and a digital hygrometer. My questions are, first the solution I bought is an 8 oz bottle and is already mixed 50/50 PG and distilled water. Will I need to mix another 8 oz of distilld water in with this solution or do Ijust use the bottle? Second, How much will I need, will I need more than the 8 oz or will the 8 oz works for the size of the container?

Any help any of you can give I would appreciate it.

The solution you bought is pre-mixed at 50% PG and 50% distilled water so you are all set there. The way to use the stuff is to soak the foam with the PG solution. Then you use straight distilled water for the next couple of months because the PG will still be there in a high enough concentration to work, then once you start noticing strange, wider changes in RH, you again add the PG solution to the foam and repeat. That 8 oz bottle could last you two years or so.

Honestly, you don't need the stuff. Straight distilled water will be fine, you just have to monitor it yourself.

Don't forget to keep plenty of spanish cedar in there. The wood boxes cigars come in work perfectly. When you first put the dry wood in there, your RH will be low until the wood is primed. Hopefully, the boxes will have been stored in a humidor to begin with.

... and I know you have the solution already, but look into the beads because it is WAY easier than the solution.
