In our time on the board, we develop friendships with strangers for no apparent reason, exchange cigars and experiences for no apparent cause, other than the support and the hopes we share and we bear for our fellow brothers of the leaf.
So I come home tonight and see a package on my doorstep. Not expecting anything, I turn it over and recognize the name and smile to myself - not because of the package itself, but because the package has a domestic postal label. Because the package signifies that the sender is safe at home hopefully traveling, smoking, hiking, camping, cooking, shooting, and spending some quality time with his son. To me, it's good news on a personal note.
I opened the package and I was without words.
Locard, I am truly, truly, humbled, honored, and speechless.
There is a quote from WB Yeats that I am fond of that I can say to members of the board and to you personally:
"Think where man's glory most begins and ends
And say my glory was I had such friends."
Cheers,
Paul
Kind brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown
