    He used to race V8 Supercars,

    but since his retirement in 98, he used to participate in road rallys, such as the Targa Tasmania

    http://www.targa.org.au/Targa/

    and rallys around the country of various types.

    When he died he was in the Rally of West Australia, which is basically the same as the T.T. but in another place.
