    Just back from Hawaii.

Here's a link to some pictures I took on the Big Island

    Had a great time there.

Great to have you back Barry - very nice pics - showed 'em to the wife and got her worked up to go back - so thanks.

Glad to see the book helped you out - wondering if you saw the turtle resting area at the black sand beach.

    Cheers

Wow great pics! I made the one looking out of your hotel my screen saver. I hope you do not mined. My sister lived in Hawaii for a few years, not the island you went to though, she also lived in California. I never made it to visit her in either place. I am glad that your trip was fun and safe.
    Welcome back!

Thank you all for the welcome back!

    Kevin,
You really should plan a trip there. Very relaxing. Only problem was the anti-smoking attitudes which, I suppose, are really no worse than most places now. I did get to enjoy a few cigars while there, including an AF Anejo #48 on that deserted black sand beach in the pics. It took about an hour drive in the 4wd over a pretty rough lava field to get there, but was definitely worth it.

    CgarDan,
Yes it was. My only regret is we didn't stay long enough to see everything we wanted to.

    Bpp,
Thanks. The resident bleeding heart, rabid liberal is back

    Mauied,
I thought you'd especially like the pick of Maui from the North coast
We've already started talking about going back.
We saw a large number of the Green Sea turtles, just not at that black sand beach. Most of them were seen at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau. I tried to get some pics, but they stayed in the water while we were there, and the lighting was not being cooperative. We saw a couple of them while snorkeling in that cove just south of Hapuna Beach too.

    Evillepaintball,
Although it's very expensive, I can't say it's over-rated. I took quite a few Lu'au pics, but most of them were lighting challenged. You really need to experience it first-hand.

    basil,
It was definitely a bit of a culture shock, but was surely a great time.

    cinda,
I'm honored that you're using one of my pics as your screen saver. It really doesn't do the real thing justice though.

    Desert Rat,
I took over 300 pics while there, so more may get added after I sort through them all.
