We don't have one in my community yet, but $1500 for a cigar club membership seems a bit steep. What do you guys think? Are any of you members of one?

$1500 is way steep. But, if you are serious about your smoke and you can afford to pay like that then I say go for it. It is really getting hard to find a quiet, chill place to sit and relax with a cigar. There is a resturant line here in New Mexico called Flying Star that surves the best coffee and desert. The one by my house has an out door patio with a huge wood burning fire pit. They burn nothing but cedar and oooooo is it a nice place to relax. Even though it is out side and away from the resturant I have been kicked out for lighting a sitck . Oh well, I'm still not willing to pay $1500 to be able to smoke a cigar.
Life is to short to b!tch...Get over it and move on.

They changed the smoking laws here in <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Florida ~ 2 years back. You can’t smoke inside anywhere that isn’t plainly a standing bar (if they serve food, they aren’t a standing bar). Many places have built patios and such so people to smoke outside. I can’t imagine being told to put out my cigar OUTSIDE though; I think I might have to tell the manager off rather rudely.

Luckily for me, I live in Ohio, very close to the West Virginia border, and we can smoke pretty much anywhere around here. All the restaurants have smoking sections, and most allow cigars. There is also a Casino 10 minutes from me in Wheeling, WV, that allows cigars, and has quite a few lounges where you can sit and relax, and watch live dog racing, or just enjoy a drink in the nice leather seats.

So, I guess I can't complain about my location, however, it is hard to find a good cigar retail shop with a well stocked humidor. I went to one of the 4 in close proximity to me, and found mold on all the Romeo Y Julieta Romeo' Court Tubos, so I guess some better retailers would be nice, also.....no clubs just for aficianados... sadly, so I'm still awaiting that.

However, my fiance' and I discussed opening up a cigar retail shop in our town, that would cater to some of the more expensive and rare cigars, unlike the other local shops, and still offer some of the more affordable smokes as well. So, I'll have to let you know how that goes!

    Until Next time,

Hey if you are in Florida near Pompano Beach, we have a cigar club here, membership is approximately $350 a year, you get a storage box for your cigars with a set of keys, and discounts on all your purchases, club is equipped with pool table, bar and poker tables if your'e into playing cards.

Thats a really nice concept. I'm up in Tallahassee, we don't have anything like that here (yet). But it would be a nice place to hang out. I like the idea of having a storage box (I take it its in a humidor?) as well.

    Hi all...

I'm from Denmark (scandinavia, north of Germany) and we have only private clubs where you can relax and have a good time with your cigar..
Its really sad, i were in Orlando, and by coincidece found a cigar shop that had an area where you could relax and smoke a cigar, unfortunatly I didn't have the time so i just bought a couple of cigars, found it late in my vacation so i was low on money, a real shame, they were SO cheap in comparison to Denmark...

Well, i have made it my project to make my home a real "laid-back" place where my cigars will feel at home, more of that later :)
