Joya de Panama cigars

I wonder how long it will take for that lame-assed site to collapse in on itself AGAIN? From what I've been hearing, it's pretty dead over there except for the usual suspects, all five of them

I wonder if the Panamanian cigar guy ever sent those sticks out that he promised? Saint Luis Rey was in LTC Chat with him one night about two months ago and the guy promised he'd send him some sticks and he never did. He also promised he'd send sticks to SFG & PuroBrat too. Is anyone here in touch with the Island guys to know if they ever got their Panamanian cigars?

Inquiring minds want to know

There are a couple of questions related to that CigarDavid Panamanian cigar deal... The one that Zac worked to hard to promote on the Island...

a) Are members getting their cigars?

b) Has anybody tried them, and what have the reviews been like on them?

For those of you who don't know, CigarDavid started a small cigar business "Joya de Panama". The cigars are made in Panama, and CigarDavid has been promoting them at various cigar boards. LTC has welcomed CigarDavid with open arms, even selling them through the board. CigarDavid had been offering free samples to a number of members at that, and other boards. I had heard that many weren't receiving their free samples as promised (I just want to let all of you know up front, I did not ask for any, so it doesn't personally affect me)

I'm curious, because I've not tried them yet, nor have I heard of any great cigars coming out of Panama. Could this be the new and upcoming place for great cigars??? If so, I'd like to get my hands on some of those...

I believe this is the same guy who was in CP's chat room one night and promised me cigars.... screen name is JDP.... said he owned a company and wanted us to know what he thought of his sticks, I told him I never saw them before. So he told me to send him an e-mail with my addy.... sure enough, one day last week I got a 5er sample pack. He told me they were seconds from his private stock..

Then I was thinking, this must be some little shit-ass company, until I saw the name Joya de Panama was going to be at a HERF in Florida. I've never seen him on the BB again. I have not tried one, but will let ya know when I do.

I got a sample that came crushed and unsmokeable. He said he would send another sample that never came.
