    Default Cohiba Esplendidos

Hello I'm new to the forum, just thought I'd give my opinion on a few lesser smoked cigars and hope to learn more about some dmoestically availible brands.

    Cohiba Esplendido:

Construction: Firm Oil wrapper leaf - well it was before i got on the plane. Very nice looking cigar with a more succulent CS looking wrapper. Two in my box had slight green dot blemishes.

Appearance: Looks nice the box (technically not part of the cigar) leaves alot to be desired but all Cohiba boxes seemed to be made of the same dull pine(?) composite board.

    Cut: Branded Cigar Scissors.

Draw: Very nice of the few that I have gone through one has had tighter cap ends but this can be easily resolved with messaging. The burn is impeccable one side never outpaced the other.

    Aroma:

The first bit hit me quite hard while very smooth it had a freshly mowed lawn flavor.. I have since been told this is characteristic of Cohiba's Cubans but this flavor did not sit well with me at all. The second third completely lost the grass taste, while still smooth, started to have a hugely spicy flavor... I cannot as yet identify the spice but I would think it something used in Indian cuisinie. The last third I chould not write down because these sticks hit hard. My head has never been not spinning when I reach this point.

While I understand this Cigar is highly rated it did not sit well at all with my new pallete. I am hopeing a few months in the Humidor will mellow out the sticks I have left. Either that or I can develop a pallete enough to enjoy them.

Price and place of purchase: 10 CuC (Cuban Convertable Pesos roughly 1=1 with USD) a few designer shirts in a Habanos store in Camaguey Cuba.

Note: The time from liftoff in Cuba and the time I got it to my Humidor in Michigan, through Toronto (6hrs) may have negatively effected the flavor of these sticks

I really liked the grassy Cohiba profile and spice.

Cool! Recently I had a couple of Cuban Monties that were great! But to be honest they needed some humi time to get there. Don't know if it was the original pkg'ng. & storaging or what? Give em' some time.

generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Esplendidos are by far, the best cigars I've ever smoked.
