    Default Greetings from Newbville

    Hey guys,
I've been lurking, waiting for the approval to go through. Is there a backround check?
I'm in the (way) northern Chicago burbs. Been a cigar fan again for about a year. Gone through a few dog rockets, and some pretty good ones too.
Glad to have found this forum, looks like there are alot of experienced cigar people here.
You guys already saved me from a few purchasing blunders. Thanks for that.

Hello from DC. What are the good cigar stores out in the windy city? May company has a lot of conventions out ther since is kind of in the middle of our 'sphere of work'.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

Sorry, I'm much not help with this. I rarely make it downtown, and if I do, I'll grab a smoke from the humi. To tell the truth, I've never even been to a real shop in Chicago proper.
Avoid the little tourist shop at the end of restaurant row on Navy Pier. I saw Weevil Holes there!!

Great to have you on board, hope you're already finding smokes that suit your tastes. There's a huge world of cigars out there, don't be afraid to shop around and try a few hundred kinds before you make up your mind!

How did I miss your intro post, sprangalang... A fellow Lake County resident here (in Grayslake).

You ever make it over to Cigar and More in Libertyville? Was there this afternoon watching the Bears game...

    Welcome!!!

Welcome from one new member to another.

My earliest memories of growing up were in a SW Chicago suburb. Grew up in Calumet next to the golf course, and moved to Potowatomie Hills down the street during kindergarten and first grade.

I still love the upper mid-west.

    Hey Sprang!

Is that a black Gibson ES-335 as your icon? I have a 1979 dot neck sunburst 335 and it's still my favorite guitar.

    And welcome to CS.

The only place you can legally smoke in Libertyville after they moved to be a "smoke free" community 10/01. You can't smoke anything in any establishment other than a smoke shop...

You gotta stop by - they have a great area in the back with leather chairs, big screen TV's, game tables, etc. And usually a great bunch of guys... You get a chance, check it out...

I'm going to try and be there next Sunday for the Miami game...
