I heard on the news last night that it is rumored Fidel Castro is dying of the big "C". When he finally goes, what do you think will happen with the US trade embargo? Will his passing be enough to satisfy the Cuban-American community in Miami, or will the community continue to push for the embargo because of feelings towards his brother? Also, do you think the large oil reserves they just found off the coast of Cuba will have any bearing?
My initial gut feeling says that the embargo will be lifted since politicians will have somthing to spin to the Cuban-American community, and they want American oil companies to get a piece of the pie. But I don't have a good feel for what the Cuban-American community is thinking and I know that neither party wants to risk losing their vote.
