Wow, you're right Barry, it's been that long. My friend was in the hotel across the street when the vans blew. We were talking about it recently and we said '96. And yeah, OSB was offered to the Saudi's (his own royal family heritage) and they would have given him to us if we wanted, but it was never pressed. Thanks for the corrections.

Sid, that has to be one of the stupidest statements I've ever seen you post. How can you justify shit like that?

The "problem" is Barry. Many people here are finding Barry's behavior to be offensive, over the top, hateful, etc. I take exception to what HE is saying and you pull your "Scotty" reasoning trying to turn it around on me. Nice try Sid but that dog won't hunt.

And yes, Barry is "wrong" not for his liberal opininions but for his hateful attacks and lack of respect for people on this board. He's clearly toned it down in the past couple of day so why the hell are you starting shit with me after the fact?

When you say you "hate" "right wing Republicans... the christian right," etc., to me you've shown your true colors those being that you have no tolerance and respect for people who have a difference of opinion by taking it to the extreme point that you say you "hate" them and that concerns me a great deal.

If that's REALLY the kind of person you are then you're just as bad as Barry.

As far as dumbya goes, if it continues to get a rise out of you, I'll keep using it.

    BTW,
This is my last post to this thread, I wouldn't want to piss off any more of the "natives".

How many Democrats or Republicans one votes for in a specific election has nothing to do with which side of the political spectrum a person is. Here's how I'll probably vote in the upcoming election:

    Governor - Democrat
    Lt. Governor - Democrat
US Senate - Democrat (the real Democrat Lamont, not Lieberman)
    US Congress - Republican
    State Senate - Republican
    State House - Democrat
Secretary of the State - Democrat
    Treasurer - Democrat
    Comptroller - Democrat
    Atty General - Republican
    Judge of Probate - Republican
Registrar of Voters - Republican (because it's ME who will be on the ballot for that office in my town)

Now based on what I just posted, by your silly definition I'm more "moderate" that you because I'm voting for seven Democrats and you're only voting for three Republicans so I'm more than TWICE as "moderate" as you, right? I probably would be voting for eight Democrats but as I mentioned, I'm running for the Registrar of Voters position in this year's election so it's only natural I'd vote for myself. As I said before, this is completely irrelevant to your or my political leanings so I really don't understand what you're trying to prove or accomplish with statements like that because I don't believe for one minute that I'm twice as "moderate" as you and quite frankly don't care one way or the other.

Bill - that's a bit too much... I think Barry did present his view in a respectful way... You might not agree with it, but it was respectful...

No, Sid - I think Bill is coming off as being very pissed off at Barry. While others may give a more "balanced" response, the message is the same. Is Bill on the "other side" of the issue? No doubt. Am I on the "other side" of the issue - I think that's pretty clear as well. How it's bein expressed has more to do with personal feelings, than with a logic argument.

I am also not a real fan of the right-wing zealots, so I kinda sorta understand where you're coming from - but hate requires an awful lot of passion, Sid. I can't even begin to understand your "hate" - because there is absolutely nothing in the political process I truly "hate". I may strongly disagree with policies, but I don't "hate" them or the individuals behind them. It's really hard for me to be that passionate about hating anything...

...well... except for my ex-wife, but she's not in politics...

"Hate" is an overused phrase rarely meant literally... kinda like "I'm gonna kill him!"

Look at the good side GG - A few more weeks and it's back to football.

FYI, the thread you're quoting, was refering to the LEADERS of the gop. I never called "ALL" republicans those things. Only those involved in the cover-up and defense of Foleys actions, or more accurately, those defending the way the gop leaders acted.
If someone takes that personally, or is offended by that assertion, as were many on this bb, and immediately jump into the thread and aggressively attack me, I have to look at them with a very large degree of suspicion.

Go back and read the beginning of that thread, and take a good hard look at where the real personal insults started.

Funny how they're the one still throwing around personal insults here.

I dunno Barry - you said this...

Yep, call me crazy, just because I'm sick and tired of the retarded, chickenhawk, scandalous, criminal, child-molesting, radical religious fuck-tards that are the repuglican party.
Seems pretty clear to me you were pointing the finger at the ENTIRE republican party - not just the leadership.... Because I'm a part of the republican party, does that make me one of those too? I suppose there is a limit in there somewhere, Barry - I'm just really not sure where it is - and I'd have to make some awfully big assumptions to meet with your most recent definition because I don't see the word "leadership" anywhere in that statement...

I can dig up more, but I'm tired and crabby right now...

Besides - I don't like anyone trampling on the American flag - using it as a door mat - burning it - spitting on it - hanging it upside down... I also really don't like anyone calling the president a "shitstain" for the same reason. I didn't like it when Clinton was in office (even though I didn't like the things he was doing) - I don't like it when Bush is in office... It's an issue of respect for our whole government institution - whether or not I agree with the current policies - it's still our country and deserves our respect...

I've said all the way back to when I was a snot nosed teenager and a pretty doggone radical liberal - if ya don't like it - change it - if you are unwilling to do what it takes to change it (I mean action, not pissing and moaning), move somewhere else where it's more suitable to your tastes...

(BTW - If you're asking me to play connect-the-dots with your statements to come to some sort of conclusions, could you please label them a little more clearly. I don't see the "A", "B", "C", etc. in your statements)

BTW - I don't know what the others commenting in these threads are doing this mid-term election season. I'm surmising they're probably voting - which is a good start... However, I have to say - I respect Bill in this fight primarily because he's out in the trenches - going door to door - looking for votes. He's up on his local issues. He's devoted a lot of time and effort into working on campaigns. He's very actively involved in the process - and has been doing that for as long as I've known him. That is the "action" I speak of...

I'm just a voter. I don't often participate in a campaign (other than from time to time sticking a sign in my yard). While I think my opinions are valid, in reality - my opinions hold the same water as other opinions by fellow voters - until the others demonstrate to me they're doing more than just talking and voting, the opinions expressed are just like mine - a lot of hot air...

But I'm quite sure the other side sees it differently...

Could you please quote the post# in the thread "GOP Condones Pedophiles Actions" that you have quoted, cause I didn't find it. We were talking about the same thread, right? Or are you intermixing threads here?
Also, did I do something to the American Flag that I don't remember? Where did that crap come from?
I will give respect when it's earned/or deserved. I reserve my right to free speech and expression of my disdain for the current that just happens to be in office now, which is a long practiced tradition in this Country. Pretty doggone radical liberal that's a good one! As far as the rest of that paragraph, you have NO idea what my involvement is in the political process. So any comments of yours on that subject are just you talking out of your .
Connecting the dots isn't necessary, only an inkling of common sense. I guess some people just have it, and some...well you know...or maybe you don't.
