I'm not sure I can adequately present the evidence in a way that would give full light to the problem these two have had elsewhere (because it is a LONG history and lots of posts) - However, on CigarRebellion there was a recent clamp down on nastiness. UpstateMike (the site owner) posted a new thread, "Let's try heavy handed moderator board style for a while!". A few (Sid and Barry included) were pretty nasty on that board and have been ultimately ostracized from that community - Larrynj is currently a member and is as nasty as Barry. I don't know ALL of the reasons, but I do know that UpstateMike was VERY uncomfortable with some of the nastiness Barry was displaying (along with guys like Sid and larrynj and the like)...

Statements that made UpstateMike uncomfortable (from Barry):

Now, admittedly, they do NOT have a politics forum where you can speak "freely", so guys like Barry could speak openly on ALL threads as illustrated above. But clearly - Barry without limits = nasty, rude, obnoxiousness the likes of which have never been seen on this board. I really do have some issues about him bringing his "brand" of argument here...

...and he left out the USUAL part (most likely because larrynj won't have any part of it) - wanted to invite larrynj to THIS board - because Sid knows larry and Bill are mortal enemies - what better way to chase Bill away than to gang up on him with the Barry and Larry team. Both are tenacious, both are intelligent, and both are nasty... Fortunately for all of us - larry won't have any part of that - or this place would be up for grabs...

You can draw your own conclusions based on what you're seeing on this board. I've seen what's been going on elsewhere prior to their coming here. I see the handwriting on the wall... I'm not liking to see this place being burnt down...

I apologize to the community for being very vocal in this latest fiasco - but this situation really does not sit well with me. I really don't want Barry banned - I think there are some things about Barry which will be beneficial to the community. Sid too! But - for both Barry and Sid to try and chase any other FOG off of this board because they've drawn some inferences from previous arguments is just plain silly. They're trying to kill the messenger for the message...

LoudPipes - I understand your angst - and I understand you being defensive... Shelby, DesignWise, Prophetic Joe - same thing. It ain't pretty - I know that. And I assure you - in relative terms in relation to the length of time this board has been in existence - it will only be for a short time (I've seen things like this come and go). Have patience - this too will pass...

Maybe the message gets lost in all of this nonsense - but it's no less important than when it was privately communicated to the responsible persons before all of this started. If you can't be in some ways respectful in your arguments, don't cause the rest of the board to have to suffer your nastiness because you're trying to make a point. TONE IT DOWN!!!
