Well, I decided to come back. You guys are lucky. Got back about 2:00am last nite. Had a freaking great time, we went and visited my Grandma, then headed down to Orlando and spent to days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I think we stopped at a restraunt and ate every 2 hours. seriously. when i got back to my dads place, i had gained 8 pounds. 8 pounds in 2 days. It was so good to see my family down there. It had been 10 years since I had seen any of my step siblings and grandma. Good bonding time with the girlfriend, too. All in all, we had a grand time. I think we plan on heading back down there this summer and spend a week on a house boat down in the Keys.

Went to 3 different cigar shops while i was down there. Two of them were run by idiots and the other one was extremely overpriced. Well, they were all overpriced, but one was at least nice and overpriced. Except for they some Ghurka's in a glass tube just sitting out on display in the lobby. Ruined. One place was asking over $7 for Onyx Reserve Belisco. And one place had a fan in the humidor, and i needed a jacket to go in there. So, needless to say, i didn't buy anything.

Hey LoudPipes: Ever been to Cigarz inside Universal Studios? It's hard to take anybody seriously with a "z" replacing a "s" in their name.

I hoped you didn't go in there but alas... I was wrong.

What other shops did you go to?

Sounds like you did NOT make it to Corona which should have been the prime choice for you but there are always other times.

well, i went to the one in Downtown Disney. it was "S" something Brothers. they were the one with the decent walkin, but had the Ghurka's basting in the sun. I also went into the shop in Old Town. They had a crappy crappy selection. It was nothing but knock-offs and dog rockets, with one humidor designated for swisher sweets. all the shops i went to were extrememly overpriced.

    oh well.

Yup... sounds like you got stuck in the tourist areas and of course all the prices are going to be way more than normal.

Next time you're here make it a point to go to Corona
    http://www.coronacigar.com/events/index.asp

The Corona Cigar location, which opened in April of 2002 at 7792 W. Sand Lake Road, includes over 5,000 square feet of totally humidified space, displaying more than 1.5 million cigars. Where you find cigars there are usually accessories. From $3000 cigar humidors to $900 cigar lighters, this is paradise for cigar enthusiast. Other than some accessories, there are few special cigars you will find out of your reach. Corona Cigar has a large selection of, pre-Fidel Castro Cuban cigars that are kept under lock and key.
Look below for directions to the store.
