    Default Cigar in a bottle?

    http://www.cigarinthebottle.com/Gallery.html

Seems VERY interesting. I would like one but refuse to spend that kind of cash on it.

Definitely a collector type item. Although I question the long term stability of the humi pack.

Yeah, I think you would be better off removing the cigar and putting it into a humi. I have one of those cigars, and it sure smell different than the regular Opus. Apparently it is a different blend.

Anyone know if it is possible to get one of those cigars minus the bottle?

I have heard the name Forbidden X before but have never lookied deeply into it. I always thought it was just a reference to the X that is so commonly listed with the opus products.

Found this posted in response to a letter inquiring about the product. A bit of overkill if you ask me...

Thank you for your inquiry. Cigar in the Bottle is an exclusive luxury product just being released after 10 years of development. It features a patented glass bottle hand blown in the South of France that contains a patented glass chamber in the center to store and protect a cigar. The cigar is sealed inside with a patented Humidipak gel system that maintains and preserves the cigar's freshness. The surrounding liquid is Grand Pommier XS Calvados, an exquisite apple brandy from Normandy, France made from over 100 varieties of apples, then double distilled and aged for up to 40 years. This spirit won back-to-back Double Gold, Best Calvados and Best of Show honors even before the product's release. The cigar is a Fuente Forbidden X, even more exclusive than the coveted OpusX. Most notably, the tobaccos for this cigar are finished in used Grand Pommier XS barrels to lend an apple brandy aroma. Robb Report rated the cigar "Best of the Best." The product comes with a jewelry grade gift box and is truly the perfect gift for the man who has almost everything. The bottles are numbered, and collectors note that the odd numbered and even numbered bottles have different labeling on the bottom. Cigar in the Bottle retails for approximately $300 per bottle. Only 1,000 bottles are being released in the first batch, in increments of a few hundred bottles per shipment. So far, each shipment has sold out within a matter of days, as demand far exceeds supply. If you would to order a bottle, we recommend Old Oaks Cigar and Liquor Co. in Thousand Oaks at (805) 494-1886. You can also try Lee's Liquor at the Flamingo store in Las Vegas. We will be sending our next shipment to Chicago where it will be carried by the Binny's liquor chain. That should arrive within the next 3-4 weeks.

If you are ever in Las Vegas, be sure to visit Casa Fuente, the cigar lounge at Caesar's Forum Shops, where the product can be ordered by the shot.

We hope this has been helpful, and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.

You're right in the backyard of the place you probably could get one, if you wanted to... Tampa Sweethearts is a Fuente owned store...

The Forbidden X's are about $25 each, if you can find them. I wasn't blown away when I smoked it the first time. Got a couple of others I'm saving for a while before I smoke 'em...

But - as Kevin suggests - that's a slippery slope you're headed towards...

It's one of those things where I just have to see for myself and form my own opinion about a cigar.

Recently I finally found a place that carries Davidoff and Zino in their walk in humi. So I will finally be trying those...quite overpriced but I will still try it.

It is NOT a Fuente owned store in the sense that it is not in anyway owened by the Fuente & Newman Cigar Co. It is owned by a member of the family.

You can try Tampa Sweethearts but so far nobody I know has purchased any there.

Yup. They are in my backyard but it does not make it any easier.

Personally I am not a big fan of Tampa Sweetheart. I like to go in and talk, walk around and look at all the product. There you can only walk into a small room, order what you want from a window and leave. A sad experience.

However I KNOW they will have the 858 sungrown in soon. I will be hitting those with a fierce grip. They will not sell a box though. :(

...all I know - if you're looking for hard to find Fuente product USUALLY (not always) they have it before others do... And I think it has something to do about being owned by a member of the family...
