Eric has informed me that he has been given permission to use this domain by Oliva. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt unless some other facts come to light.

Registering domain names with a trademarked word to sell a product is actually not that uncommon. I actually own several myself but have been given permission to use them by the owner of the trademark.

I should have jumped on this sooner but I've been busy with work.

We are done with the flame wars this year.

I did a little bit of investigating.

That domain has an interesting history. It looks like it was fujipubs, then it when to Oliva, and apparently it's now Erics.

I'm not sure if it's always been there or not, but the www.olivacigars.com does clearly state that it is not the manufacturer, just a retailer on every page and provides contact information for the manufacturer.

Just to give you guys an update. The legal dept at Oliva Cigars is aware of this site and are investigating what actions can be taken.

Why would the Oliva legal department be investigating legal action if Eric has permission?
